Our history
Sophcon was founded in January 2014 by Robert Sweeney as a means to provide services to pre-existing business relationships. In April 2015 Robert left his role with Dell Services to pursue Sophcon more aggressively. This decision was made due to Robert's growing interest in providing technical assistance to Small and Medium-sized business. With the a high-level goal of helping small business grow through the use of technology.
In September of 2015 Robert was joined by long-time friend and colleague Yer Yang. Together they continue to pursue and define goals for Sophcon.
CEO/Founder
Robert Sweeney
Robert Sweeney is a solutions architect, developer, technology enthusiast, and proud father. Robert has been developing custom software professionally, for over 16 years. He started his facination with software working with the WIN32 API programming and Visual Basic 3.0. During his tenure with Dell Services Robert has held roles as a Technical Consultant, Senior Technical Advisor, and Principal Consultant, specializing in Custom .NET Development, SharePoint 2013, Office 365 and Windows Azure.
Although Robert historically has been developing against the Microsoft stack, he enjoys learning about other platforms and technologies. He is also an advocate for small businesses and spends time helping out with his wife’s small business and assisting other small businesses with his founded services company Sophcon.

Yer Yang
Yer Yang received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from DeVry University of Fremont, CA in 2006. With his degree, Yer went on to providing solutions, with a focus on software, for numerous organizations in different industries ranging from manufacturing, medical, and education. Through his work, he has proven to be a dedicated and a hard-working individual who strives to not only deliver on schedule but exceed expectation. Yer is devoted and committed to his family and brings that same loyalty and dedication to those who he had the opportunity to work with.
